| Notes: | The Permanence in Foster Care study, funded by the Big Lottery, was a partnership between BAAF, the Fostering Network and the Centre for Research on the Child and Family at UEA. It found that in the absence of national guidance, each local authority in England and Wales has been developing its own definitions, systems and models of permanence practice in an attempt to improve outcomes for the children in their care. This diversity of approaches to reach the same goal is what this challenging conference will address.
