NCAS has been funded by government to improve the accommodation prospects of young people leaving care.
National Care Advisory Service (NCAS) believes that adopting the following three prong approach, looking at activity on a "SOP" basis, will enhance accommodation services for the long-term. SOP stands for strategic, operational and ‘personalisation’. The project has collated a number of resources listed under these pages

Historic research
Home Alone: housing support for young people leaving care
A 2007 report from Catch22, formerly Rainer revealed that young people leaving care are not consistently receiving the housing support that they are entitled to under current legislation. Home Alone: housing support for young people leaving care assesses the scale of the problem and highlights the shocking conditions in which some care leavers are expected to set up their first home. It also identifies the gaps within local authority support, which can be as basic as simply not assessing the accommodation where vulnerable young people are being housed.
