NATIONAL STANDARDS IN LEAVING CARE
SELF ASSESSMENT TOOL
For your leaving care service to meet the National Standards in Leaving Care, there are a number of criteria that your service needs to meet, i.e. specific requirements that the service has to achieve or to put in place. To rate your service against these standards, download the self assessment tool here and save it on to your computer.
NB You must have Microsoft Excel to open and use the tool – full instructions are given on the first page, called’ How to use this tool’. The tool has a scoring system, which gives your service a percentage rating for how well it meets each standard, and its achievement overall across all 8 standards. You can print off the results in table and chart form. Saving the document every time you have finished will preserve your score for the next time. You can answer any number of questions at your own pace and come back to it later.

Remember – Don’t forget to save the tool before you close it, otherwise you will have to start again!
