WMTD Film

"The Difference is.....Caring" is a film made by young people reflecting the thoughts and experiences of young people who have experienced the Care System.The film comes in 4 parts and reflects a day in the life of 4 different corporate parents who learn what young people have to say about their time in care, good and bad as well as finding out about what really makes the difference. The end of the film also reflects the Government's new proposals in Care Matters, specifically the Pledge.

Instead of hiring a film company to make the film, it was made by 4 care experienced young people who were recruited as sessional workers. As well as providing them with a fantastic opportunity they also learnt new and transferable skills which they could add to their CV. After completing a 3 day training course at the prestigious National Film and Television School learning about camera and sound work, they embarked on a 6 week journey filming across England. They were then involved in the cutting and editing together of the film, under the expert supervision of our Director, Dean Puckett.

All of the young people and adults who appear in the film are untrained actors; care leavers and social care professionals and we could not have completed this project without them and our fantastic film crew.
