National Care Leavers' week 2009 underway!

Events are taking place throughout the UK at local and regional level to celebrate achievement, raise awareness and promote good practice.

Each day of National Care Leavers' Week this year from Monday – Friday, a short video will be launched featuring the experiences of care leavers and successful initiatives in Kensington and Chelsea, Camden, Westminster, Torfaen, Nottingham and Stockport. The National Care Advisory Service will hold its first inaugural lecture in care leavers' week on 29 October 2009. The respected academic, Professor Mike Stein, will be giving the key note lecture on 'From Care to adulthood: the challenges of corporate parenting - an international perspective'. The lecture is for an invite-only audience but the presentation will be available on the website soon.
